I’ve enjoyed the first WordCamp I’ve ever attended — WordCamp Pune 2015 — enough that I wanted to go to whenever and wherever the next WordCamp happened in this region. As it happens, the next WordCamp is taking place in Mumbai and the official dates have just been announced.

WordCamp Mumbai will take place on 12th and 13th March 2016. As unnecessary as it is to say where it will take place, I’ll still say that it’s taking place in Mumbai, a city which I call the L.A. of India, and for good reasons.

wordcamp mumbaiI would love to say that I’ve never visited Mumbai because that would be true in the sense that I’ve really not seen anything in Mumbai, but I’d be wrong. As I wrote in one of my earlier posts, I landed on Mumbai airport last time I went to India and spent the night at a nearest hotel. The next morning, we went back to the airport to pick up another colleague and went straight to Pune from there.

I wouldn’t call that ‘visiting Mumbai’, so I’m pretty excited about spending a few days in Mumbai, sightseeing, talking to fellow WordPress enthusiasts, and of course, attending the two-day WordCamp.

I’m still not sure if I’ll end up attending WordCamp Mumbai, though. It’s because you can never be sure about getting Indian visa from Bangladesh. It’s uncertain and a pain in the ass to go through the Indian visa application process. I was tired, exhausted, and literally gave up last time I applied. So I can’t be sure that I’ll go.

But I enjoyed my last visit to India and my first visit to WordCamp. So all that trouble to get the visa was worth it in the end. Because of that, I may end up applying for the visa again, whether or not they grant one.

Have you attended any WordCamp so far? What was your favorite part of the event?
